Contemporary Steam Locomotives

The other restored Soo Line steam locomotive is Pacific (4-6-2) 2719. Of the two, the 2719 is more traveled, having done special excursions and occasional duties on Wisconsin tourist railroads. In May 2000, the 2719 led a series of excursions from Chippewa Falls, WI to the High Bridge over the St. Croix River (between Minnesota and Wisconsin). At New Richmond, WI the 2719 stopped for servicing, and to let the passengers stretch their legs. The day was (obviously) very nice and sunny, which made it perfect for photographing the beautiful Soo locomotive from a variety of positions. This view allows you to see the extra hardware and pumps installed on 2719 by the Soo Line during her operating days.
