Preserved Soo Line Steam Locomotives
Soo Line 2719 comes full circle. Here, the 2719 is seen about
to depart Osceola, WI on August 30, 1998, with an excursion train--the first
time the 2719 had operated for revenue passengers since 1959. As an interesting
side note, the last time 2719 ran for revenue, it was over this same line,
some 39 years earlier! With two operating Soo Line steam locomotives now
plying the rails of the Upper Midwest, I hope that all Soo fans will be
able to see them both again very soon.
