Another Soo locomotive preserved at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum is GP30 700. (As a side note, EMD's GP30 is one of my personal favorite locomotives). The 700 is owned by the Soo Line Historical and Technical Society and is kept at LSRM, where it is used to power excursion trains on the North Shore Scenic Railroad. It is interesting to consider that three generations of Soo locomotives can be seen in Duluth--steam (Pacific 2719), and first and second generation diesel (FP7 2500A and GP30 700 respectively). Now if we could get an SD60M we could have all classes of Soo motive power preserved!
