A Soo SD40-2 leads CP train #571 through Plymouth, MN on June 13, 1998.  The Soo 781 was painted into the attractive Candy Apple Red paint scheme in late 1990.  The Candy Apple Red was introduced in 1989, with Soo 757 the first painted into the new scheme.  The red paint has held up well on the majority of these units as the 781 shows.  Train 571 is a daily mixed freight on the Paynesville Sub, which often travels west of Minneapolis in the darkness.  But during the long days of summer, it is
possible to catch #571 in daylight.
