At 12:30 P.M., Soo 6617 is in charge of an empty unit sulfur train on February 7, 1998. This westbound train is about to pass the east end of Humboldt Yard, which is located in northeast Minneapolis. Humboldt has long been an important yard for the Soo, serving as a base for trains that switch area industries. It also handles cars to be interchanged with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Wisconsin Central.
