Soo 2403 East, Minneapolis
Two chop-nosed Geeps from the CP family are in charge of the
BN Transfer on the afternoon of March 23, 1997. They are heading for
BNSF's Northtown Yard to make a delivery. The BN Transfer is passing
through Camden, about a mile east of Humboldt Yard, in Minneapolis.
Camden is where the Soo passenger trains headed south to reach the Milwaukee
Road depot in Minneapolis, while most freights turned east to cross the
Mississippi and reach Shoreham Yard. Part of the downtown line survives
to serve a couple of industries. Soo 2403 is one of the few Geeps
to wear the Candy Apple Red livery introduced by the Soo near the end of
its' independence.
