Diesel Locomotives, 1986-1990
The last new locomotives acquired by the Soo Line were sixty-three
SD60 and SD60M locomotives, from 1987 to 1990. Plans for additional SD60s
were made by the Soo, but subsequently cancelled by the CP. Here the 6002,
an all-red sister, and two ex-Milwaukee Road units lead a long train at
Dayton's Bluff in St. Paul, MN on April 7, 1990. It may well be spring in
Minnesota, but it still looks like winter in many ways.
