Diesel Locomotives, 1986-1990
As a result of the Milwaukee Road merger, the Soo Line became
a much larger property, and the Soo started running places it hadn't before.
One of those was the Quad Cities of Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa and Moline
and Rock Island, Illinois. The Soo maintained a presence on both sides of
the Mississippi River, including two small yards in Davenport as well as
a small running shops. Here Soo Line MP15AC 1518, appearing to have been
recently released from the paint shop, pauses at Davenport, IA on April
7, 1990. Two days later, the CP acquired 100% control of the Soo, and basically
ended its' existence.
