Railroad Depot Photos
This is the second Soo Line depot in Buffalo, MN. The original
depot was a classic Soo Line first-class structure, destroyed in a derailment
on November 30, 1953. This new depot opened the following year. Today, Buffalo
continues to be an important town in Wright County, MN, just on the outskirts
of the Twin Cities metro area. Soo Line successor Canadian Pacific continues
to use this depot for local operations, and the main line can still occasionally
see Soo Line power leading a train...though those days are sadly fading.
